Director of Finance and Accounting

Are you an experienced accountant with a background in public or nonprofit accounting and a passion for financial leadership in the education sector? Our nonprofit client in Town and Country (St. Louis County) is seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting to lead their finance department. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

What You’ll Do

• Lead all aspects of financial reporting, including preparing and presenting reports to leadership and the Board of Directors

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements

• Oversee cash management, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and a small accounting team

• Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts aligned with organizational strategy

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably with 1+ year in public accounting or nonprofit.

• CPA or MBA preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills

• Experience working with senior leadership and Boards is a plus
