POSITION SUMMARY: The senior accountant prepares journal entries and reconciliations for the monthly general ledger close, conducts in-depth account analysis, and assists with monthly reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Using generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the senior accountant is responsible for performing assigned task within the following functional areas:
Accounting:
Prepare and record journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information, ensuring completion in accordance with our established monthly close calendar
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies
Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
Serve as back-up for month-end duties assigned to other Senior Accountants
